Amber Benson, an American musician, producer and singer is also a writer. Her most well-known character is Tara Maclay, in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Additionally, she has directed, produced and appeared in her own films Chance and Lovers Liars & Lunatics. Also, she was part of the film Kiss the Bride. Benson was born on the 8th of January 1977 in Birmingham Alabama the daughter of Diane and Edward Benson a psychiatrist. Benson has a younger sister Danielle, who is an artist. Benson went to a Reform Jewish synagogue as she grew in her teens. Her mother was a Southern Baptist and raised Jewish through her father, is also Jewish. Benson is a performer featured in a variety of TV and film shows after Buffy was over, most notably The Killing Jar.
