Ariana Grande-Butera (/,a:ri'a:n@ 'gra:ndeI/ AR-ee-AH-n@ GRAHN day;[note 1] was born June 26th the 26th of June, 1993) is an American musician, singer, and actress. Her vocal range of four notes and her signature use of whistle registers are highly acclaimed by the both critics and the media. Grande has received numerous accolades over her career. Grande's musical career began at the age of 15 in the Broadway musical "13". Her character of Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious (2010-2013), and Sam & Cat (2013) was her first big hit. After watching YouTube videos of Grande singing, Republic Records signed Grande to their label in the year 2011. The US Billboard 200 topped Grande's 1950s-inspired R&B-influenced Pop and R&B debut album [2] Yours Truly (2013). The single "The Way" was a top 10 hit in the US Billboard Hot 100. The vocals of Grande and her whistle-like sound on the album immediately in comparison to Mariah Carey.


In her third and fourth studio albums, My Everything (2014), and Dangerous Woman (2016), she explored pop as well as R&B. My Everything tried EDM, and was a huge success thanks to the hit singles "Problem", Break Free and "Bang Bang" and Dangerous Woman was her first of four consecutive top ten albums released in the UK. Sweetener (2018), as well as Thank U, Next (2019), were her fifth and fourth studio albums, respectively, featuring trap music. Both of these albums were critically and commercially highly acclaimed. Sweetener was awarded the Grammy Award as Best Pop Vocal Album. Thanks U, Next was nominated to be Album of the Year, and broke the record for streaming for the most popular pop album. Grande was the first solo performer in history to to hold the top three places on the Hot 100, and also the first woman who made it to the top of UK Singles Chart. Grande broke the Hot 100 record for the highest number-one debuts by debuting Justin Bieber's collaboration of "Stuck with U" with Lady Gaga. The latter received the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Grande extended her trap music genre with her sixth studio album Positions (2020), which both the album and the title track debuted at number one in the UK as well as the US. Grande collaborated with The Weeknd for the remix of "Save Your Tears" in 2021. It was her sixth highest-rated US single.
